WHAT IS REIKI
Reiki is an excellent tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki is used for general wellness as well as an aid in healing. Reiki can not be viewed as a cure for a disease or illness, but it does help the body create a physical setting that facilitates healing. Reiki complements traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings. Reiki practitioners are aware that an illness is a declaration of the body that some part of their body or mind is experiencing difficulty in functionally properly. Reiki works on several levels - spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. Through its process Reiki works to achieve long-term improvement by helping people address, heal and resolve issues that initially led to the problem. Depending upon the severity and length of the problem sometimes a physical change is just not possible. But with that said, Reiki is a very beneficial treatment in improving an individual's quality of life. Read more about Reiki.
IS REIKI SAFE
Yes, Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. There is no physical manipulation of the body involved in a Reiki session so as a result there is no risk of injury, aches, or pain. Read more about how Reiki works.
IS REIKI A RELIGION
While spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion nor is it affiliated to any religion. There is nothing you have to do or believe in for Reiki to be effective. Read about Reiki for Christians.
HOW LONG IS A REKII TREATMENT
A typical Reiki treatment is between 50 and 90 minutes - usually just over an hour. However, when working with younger children I have found an hour is sometimes too long for them and I make adjustments as needed.
DOES REIKI REPLACE MEDICAL SERVICES
Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, nor do they prescribe substances or perform medical treatment, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. It is always recommended that you see a licensed physician, or licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment you may have. Read about Reiki in Hospitals.
WHAT DO I WEAR FOR A REIKI TREATMENT
Just wear something comfortable. Your Reiki treatment will take place with all your clothes on except your shoes.
WHAT DO I DO DURING A REIKI TREATMENT
Relax and let Reiki do its magic… What I believe is that: "Reiki is like water - it seeks out its own level and will find its way to where it is needed most". Reiki adjusts to what you need and will fine tune itself to create the effect that is appropriate for your specific needs.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER A REIKI TREATMENT
A Reiki treatment is different for everyone. Reiki treats the whole person including spirit, mind, emotions and body creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, contentment and feelings of peace. During a Reiki session different people experience different things: some have visions, some hear things, others feel a warming sensation or tingling, and some just become so relaxed they fall asleep – but the benefits of Reiki remain the same. Drinking extra water after your treatment and for a few days after your Reiki treatment is highly recommended.
WHAT DOES CARLA DO DURING A REIKI TREATMENT
As a Reiki Master I become a channel for the energy to flow from the universe, through me, to you. First we sit and talk about you and what your intentions are. I will then ask you to make yourself comfortable on my Reiki table, take some deep breaths and just relax. The session begins with a quiet blessing for your Reiki session. I start with placing my hands, palms down, lightly on or just above your body starting at your head and working down to your feet. Each position is held for approximately 2 – 5 minutes or until I feel that the flow of energy has satisfied the area of focus.
